Yes! Students are encouraged to gain the best of both worlds – remaining active in their home schools as well as becoming involved with CTC. CTC students return to their home schools for athletics, music, student organizations, and other activities.

Becoming a well-rounded individual is all about taking advantage of the opportunities to be involved. CTC offers several activities for students including:

Yes, CTC can help you get started on college credits before you event graduate from high school! Many CTC students transition directly into college after earning college credit while attending CTC. We have several college credit agreements with colleges and universities across the state, allowing students to earn free college credits, easing or erasing the burden of student loan debt.

Tech Prep Scholarships
Sinclair College offers all CTC students who attend Sinclair College a $3,000 Tech Prep Scholarship if they complete their program and maintain a 2.25 GPA while at the CTC. Clark State also offers a $3,000 Tech Prep Scholarship to CTC students who complete their program and maintain a 2.25 GPA while at CTC, however Clark State offers a limited number of scholarships. 

Yes, the half-day option is available for students who want to participate in their chosen lab, but return to their partner school for academics. Check with your partner school guidance counselor to see if this option is available for you.

Yes, all CTC students are required to be in uniform! Each program has different uniform requirements.  On occasion we do have dress down days, or jeans days.

Lots of students are curious about different career paths, but it can be tough figuring out if it's really your thing. With CTC, you get the chance to dip your toes into a career field without breaking the bank like you would in college, without accumulating thousands of dollars of tuition fees. And if you're ready to dive into a career, CTC's can help you level-up by providing opportunities for certifications, credentials, experiences, and work placement options.

You will spend about 3 hours a day in your program, we call it "lab".  During this time you might be hands-on in a  small group working on a project, mastering a skill on your own, or learning in a  classroom.

The remainder of the day will be dedicated to academics, such as math, english, and science so you can fulfill graduation requirements from the state and your home school.

As a CTC student you GRADUATE from your home high school. CTC will share all of your course completion information, grades, etc with your home high school. Your home high school will issue you a diploma and you'll participate in your home high school's ceremony.

In addition to your home high school's graduation, we invite you to attend CTC's Convocation Ceremony. Convocation celebrates the credentials, certifications, and other achievements of senior students. 

CTC has several programs and opportunities for students to connect with jobs. We have a work-based learning program that includes work-placement, apprenticeship, or internship programs your senior year. These programs allow students to attend school for a portion of the day and spend the other half of  the day working in the field and earning a paycheck. Often these opportunities lead to full-time employment after graduation.

In addition, CTC offers the annual Opportunity Fair and various industry visits, guest speakers, and other experiences that help you build your network of professionals.

CTC students have the opportunity to earn certifications in their career field after learning the skills and passing a certification test.

Including these certifications on your resume can significantly enhance your employability, enabling you to get hired quicker. Employers often prioritize candidates that have mastered the skills and obtained certifications, because you will require less training.

Yes, transportation to and from campus is available! Your home high school provides bus transportation to CTC every day.

CTC students may also drive themselves to campus.
  

CTC alumni are extremely successful! Many of our graduates are successful business owners, teachers, nurses, police officers, chefs, engineers – the list goes on! There is no limit to what you can become. Visit SCCTC.org/Alumni to hear some of their stories.

CTC By the Numbers

• 95% of the Class of 2022 were employed, enlisted, or enrolled six months after graduation!
• 1,007 credentials were earned by CTC students in the 2022-23 school year!

CTC , while still a high school, has a distinctive culture that is often describe by students as more mature, professional, collaborative, and self-directed. There is an underlying tone of respect, responsibility, and commitment, as students are focused on their education and preparing for real-world jobs.
