Do I have to participate or come to school?

- Level 2 Students: October 23 and April 23, 2027
On Mandatory FRF days, students in the designated group are required to be on campus and participate in sessions. Students not required to participate in that Mandatory FRF will have an asynchronous assignment to complete.
How do I know if I'm Level 1 or Level 2?
Do half day students attend all day?
What will my day look like?
- Four session blocks with a wide variety of choices
- Lunch
- Check-ins and brief times in their career-tech lab
Not every experience will fit neatly into one session — and that’s part of the flexibility! Some activities may last one session. Others may span two sessions. Some off-campus experiences, such as a college visit or employer experience, may last all four sessions.
Students may also have required activities or academic support built into their day. One student might choose four different experiences throughout the day, while another may spend the entire day on a college visit. A student who needs academic support may spend part or all of their Friday working with CTC staff. Different students. Different schedules. One goal: making Friday count.

What is a Regular FRF Day?
On Regular FRF days, students can choose between on-campus or off-campus participation.
- On-Campus Participation Students: Attending and participating in their scheduled sessions will count as attendance for the day.
- Off-Campus Participation Students: Attendance is determined by completion of the required FRF Attendance Verification Form. Students must participate in an approved off-campus experience and submit the completed form, signed by the student, parent/guardian, and a representative from the experience. For example, a student who works would have their supervisor verify their participation by signing the form.

Do I have to participate or come to school?
Students design their day by choosing how they participate: On Campus or Off Campus.
- On Campus - Students design their day by choosing available sessions.
- Off Campus - Students may participate in an approved experience such as work, internship, job shadowing, college visits, military recruiter meeting, or community service. Off campus experiences require verification of participation through a required form that must be signed by student, parent, and a representative from the experience (example: if student works then supervisor would sign the form).
Students must earn the flexibility to chose between the on and off campus options by having an A, B, C, or D in all classes by 3 p.m. on the Monday prior to the Future Ready Friday.
What counts as an Off Campus Experience on Regular FRF Days?
- Work Experience
- Job shadowing
- College visit
- Internship (paid or unpaid)
- Military Recruiter Appointment
- Community Service/Volunteer Work
To receive attendance credit for an Off-Campus Experience, students must verify their participation by submitting the required FRF Attendance Verification Form by the Monday following the FRF day. If the form is not submitted on time, students will be marked as an Unexcused Absence.
The form must be signed by the student, parent/guardian, and a representative from the experience. For example, a student who chooses to go to work would have their supervisor at work sign the form, their parent, and themselves.
Reminder: Students who do not meet the grade requirement must participate on campus and attend their scheduled FRF sessions to receive attendance credit.

What is asynchronous and synchronous learning?
What is the purpose of asynchronous learning?
In order for students to be ready - Career Ready. College Ready. Life Ready. - in the 21st century they will be required to learn via multiple platforms and through multiple ways.
Asynchronous days allow students to begin to learn in an independent and self-directed manner, while still receiving instruction from teachers.
Staff use this time to develop lessons, learn new technology, grade assignments, plan Future Ready Friday activities, or participate in professional development.
Synchronous Learning Days
