Key Club
What is Key Club?
Key Club is the oldest and largest student-led community service organization! Operating across 40 countries in the world and on more than 5,000 high school campuses, with more than 200,000 members. Key Club members commit to volunteer work, local community service, and global charitable fundraising. While doing all of this, students are building leadership skills, character, and school spirit.
What does CTC's chapter of Key Club do?
Here at CTC, Key Club focuses on letting members voluntarily contribute to their schools and communities by performing acts of service, raising funds for charities, and building leadership skills.
Focuses of Key Club are:
- Community volunteering such as doing service projects, participating in local food drives, cleaning up parks, helping animal shelters, and going to senior centers.
- Charity fundraising to support global and local causes.
- Improving school spirit by hosting events, and assisting teachers.
Who can join Key Club?
Key Club is open to all CTC students. Interested students should talk to Mrs. Armstrong or Mrs. DeLong about joining Key Club. Members must participate in Key Club meetings.
How can I participate in Key Club?
All Key Club members have the opportunity to partake in cleaning up parks, collecting or organizing clothing, and organizing food drives. Students learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects, and holding elected leadership positions. There are numerous leadership roles at the club, division, district, and international levels.
What is the benefit of being in Key Club?
The benefits of being in Key Club are significant. Key Club complements or supplements programs at schools, allowing for students to learn outside of the classroom. Members learn about service leadership during their time in Key Club. Those who participate become more effective and confident members of their communities, and develop strong leadership skills with each opportunity they step up and take part in.
