Software Programming Technologies

A Software Programming Technologies student works on a program in the CTC lab.

Are you interested in ideas, brainstorming or, figuring things out? If so, you will do well in jobs that require analytical thinking, attention to details, taking initiative, being adaptable and working on a team. Most employers are seeking candidates with a two or four year degree to work in this field. Get on the fast track with the opportunity to earn college credits towards a Computer Science Associate’s Degree.

Over the two-year program, you will learn programming languages currently used in industry, web applications, database applications, and productivity applications. In addition, hands-on activities and projects will be used for you to demonstrate your skills and create a portfolio of sample programming projects. Students will have the opportunity to earn up to 15 credit hours towards the Computer Science Associate’s Degree as a combination of CC+ and articulated credit opportunities. Students will also have the opportunity to earn industry certifications from Microsoft Technology Associate and Microsoft Office Specialist certification tracks.
