In the Education Exploration program, you’ll gain the skills and experience for a career in education - whether you want to be a teacher, administrator, or support professional.
 

This career-tech program emphasizes hands-on learning in real classrooms, from preschool through elementary.

You’ll learn classroom management, effective teaching strategies, child development, and how to assess and support student growth. With education careers in high demand, this program prepares you for a future in teaching, social work, and beyond!

Career Opportunities in Education

Whether you want to work directly with students, support classroom learning, or take on a leadership role, there’s a path for you in the field of education.
 
Opportunities in the education field span multiple levels, from positions you can start right after high school to roles that require additional training, certifications, or degrees.
 
Upon successful completion of the program, you’ll be prepared for entry-level positions right after graduation. These roles provide a great starting point in the education field, allowing you to gain experience and build your career. Entry-level positions include, but are not limited to:
  • Instructional assistant/Classroom aide
  • Assistant preschool teacher
  • ParaPro
  • Daycare assistant
  • Tutor
With additional certifications, training, experience, or further education, you can advance into technical careers within the education field. Technical careers include, but are not limited to:
  • Preschool teacher/director
  • After school program director
  • Substitute teacher
  • Daycare manager/owner
Professional careers in education require specialized training, advanced education, and in-depth experience. These roles allow you to lead, innovate, and shape the future of education at a higher level. Academic & Career-Tech Course Pathway

Students in the this career-tech program will spend half of their day in their program lab and the other half in academics.

College Scholarships

$3,000 scholarships are available from Clark State College and Sinclair Community College to qualified students.

Mervin Britton Scholarship

Multiple scholarships are typically available through this scholarship fund which is managed by the Clark County Educational Service Center in honor of Mr. Britton. 

Applicants must be pursuing a major in Education and attending specific high schools in Clark County. For more information visit the website.

Program Advisory Committee

The Program Advisory Committee is comprised of experts and professionals, and often CTC graduates, who are currently working in the industry.
