Auto Services

An Auto Services students removes a tire from a car in the program lab.

In this course open to juniors and seniors, students learn firsthand the basic fundamentals of auto servicing and repair. Students enjoy practical, on-the-job training as they work with instructors in a modern facility that operates as a real automotive service center. From basic small engine repair to replacing brakes, students gain invaluable experience in the lab. A Small Engine/Outdoor Power Equipment Technology course is included .

An Auto Services student works on a lawn mower in the program lab at the Springfield-Clark CTC.

Students sharpen the skills to work in new and used car dealerships, vehicle maintenance service centers, outdoor power equipment dealers, independent repair facilities and tire repair service facilities. Students will experience one-half day of hands-on experience in the lab/classroom, with the remainder of their day concentrating on academic coursework.
