Mr. Brian Sheward, Welding and Fabrication Instructor at the Springfield-Clark Career Tech Center, won a $1,000 voucher to Hobart Institute of Welding Technology that will give a program graduate a head start on their post-secondary journey.

Mr. Brian Sheward, Welding and Fabrication Instructor at the Springfield-Clark Career Tech Center, won a $1,000 voucher to Hobart Institute of Welding Technology that will give a program graduate a head start on their post-secondary journey.

Mr. Sheward attended the Hobart Institute's Collaborate to Educate Educator Conference in June, where he spent two days learning about best practices, COVID response, classroom safety, and more with fellow Welding and Fabrication instructors from five states. At the end of the conference, Mr. Sheward won a drawing for a $1,000 voucher to Hobart Institute of Welding Technology.

Mr. Sheward selected Lukas Thompson, the Rising Star winner for the Welding and Fabrication program at the Springfield-Clark CTC, to receive the voucher. Lukas is scheduled to start his post-secondary education at the Hobart Institute in February of 2022.
