Springfield-Clark Career Technology Center (CTC) is excited to announce the Top 2 Students of the Class of 2025 - Morgan Furnas and Griffin Sweeney! These outstanding seniors were selected based on their grade point average (GPA). During their time at CTC they have demonstrated academic excellence and dedication to their career field.

Morgan and Griffin will also attend the Larry K. Zerkle Excellence in Education Award ceremony that recognizes the top students in Clark County and the teachers who inspired them.

Morgan Furnas - Engineering & Architectural Design Program

Morgan is a proud Boy Scout and theater enthusiast who recently directed Clue at Tecumseh High School. At CTC, Morgan was involved in SkillsUSA and as a Student Ambassador, serving as a tour guide and role model for future students touring CTC.

Morgan would like to spend the summer working with a local firm as an intern to gain surveying experience. This fall, Morgan will start working toward his degree in civil engineering through the UD Sinclair Academy program that allows students to start their degree at Sinclair College and then seamlessly transfer to the University of Dayton.

Morgan received two scholarships through the Springfield Foundation and will attend the Larry K. Zerkle Excellence in Education Award ceremony next month with Mr. Eric Barge, the Engineering & Architectural Design Instructor.

Griffin Sweeney - Cybersecurity Program

Griffin is passionate about technology and aspires to be a successful YouTuber. As a Cybersecurity program student, Griffin participated in Business Professionals of America, earning 1st Place at the regional competition in banking and finance and competed at the state level.

After graduation from Greenon High School, Griffin is looking forward to working and possibly taking college classes to get a jumpstart on earning his degree in cybersecurity.

Griffin selected Mrs. Peggy as the educator to join him at the Larry K. Zerkle Excellence in Education Award ceremony next month. He shared how she made a powerful impact on his journey, offering consistent support—both personally and academically.

Morgan and Griffin truly embody what it means to be Career Ready, College Ready, and Life Ready.
