Top 2 Seniors from CTC

Each spring, Springfield-Clark CTC recognizes the Top 2 students of the Class of 2023. This year's Top 2 students are Jenna Kalmerton and Shelbey Mercer.

Jenna Kalmerton, from Shawnee High School, is a student in CTC's Veterinary Science program. Jenna plans to become a large animal veterinarian, later becoming an equine veterinarian. She volunteers at Autumn Trails Stable, which is a therapeutic riding program and was on the Shawnee bowling team this past season.

Shelbey Mercer, from Shawnee High School, is also a student in CTC's Veterinary Science program. Shelbey will attend Morehead State University for pre-veterinary medicine. She is in CTC's Drug Free Clubs of America chapter, vice president of the National Technical Honor Society, the drama club, and FFA.

Jenna and Shelbey attended the Excellence in Education Award Dinner hosted by the Clark County Educational Service Center. Both students were encouraged to attend the event with a teacher who influenced their success.

Jenna attended with Mrs. Amy Turner, her Veterinary Science instructor at CTC. Shelbey attended with Mrs. Amy Haerr, one of her elementary school instructors.
