Cybersecurity Club's Chuck-A-Duck FUNdraiser a Huge Success!

Cybersecurity Club's Chuck-A-Duck FUNdraiser a Huge Success!
Last week, the Cybersecurity Club hosted its first-ever Chuck-A-Duck FUNdraiser, and it was a quackin’ good time! 🦆 The event highlighted the quirky yet iconic mascot for IT professionals and their common practice of "rubber duck debugging," where programmers solve problems by explaining their code to a trusty ducky sidekick.

Students flocked to the cafeteria during lunch to buy their ducks—more than 125 ducks found new homes! Ducks were soaring left and right as students competed for the longest toss and a chance to claim prizes in the Gift Exchange Game.

Where Do the Funds Go?

Thanks to everyone’s support, the Cybersecurity Club raised over $225 to fund:

  • Custom t-shirts for CyberPatriot and Capture the Flag competitions (activities are open to all CTC students).
  • Food for Capture the Flag events.
  • Supplies for their upcoming Senior Citizen visits.

Angela Yake, advisor for the Cybersecurity Club, was excited about the event’s success, “Thank you to everyone who participated, cheered, or helped behind the scenes. This fundraiser was FUN and helped the Cybersecurity Club continue their amazing work!”

Semi-finalists are throwing the small, yellow rubber duck they purchased as part of the Cybersecurity Club's Chuck-A-Duck fundraiser. The ducks that land the farthest away move on to the finals.

Four high school students are outside and each is in a various stage of throwing a small rubber duck as part of the Chuck-A-Duck fundraiser.
