CTC Welcomes David DeHart to Board of Education

CTC Welcomes David DeHart to Board of Education
The Springfield-Clark Career Technology Center (CTC) welcomes David DeHart to its Board of Education, representing Clark-Shawnee Local School District. DeHart steps into the role previously held by Ben Galbreath, who recently stepped away to dedicate more time to growing personal and professional commitments.

CTC sincerely thanks Mr. Galbreath for his service and dedication to our students and mission. We look forward to seeing him at future events - as a proud parent of a senior in the Cybersecurity program.

Meet Mr. DeHart

DeHart brings two decades of education leadership to the CTC Board of Education. Since joining the Clark-Shawnee Local School Board in May 2005, he has served in various capacities, including multiple terms as Board President. He played a key role in the district’s recent growth, serving on the New Facilities Committee during the high school’s renovation and construction of the new elementary school.

Professionally, DeHart is semi-retired after a 43-year career in public accounting and has been a licensed CPA for 41 years. He lends his financial expertise to community development efforts through service on tax-abatement committees for the city of Springfield and Clark County.

DeHart is married and has two adult daughters and five young grandchildren ranging from 8 months to 5 years old. He enjoys singing, playing the piano, watching football, and spending time with family and friends.

Looking Ahead

In his role on the CTC Board of Education, DeHart will help guide policy, support strategic planning, and advocate for CTC’s mission: Career Ready. College Ready. Life Ready. “I am looking forward to participating on CTC’s board, learning more about CTC programs, and seeing firsthand the great work CTC students are doing,” shared DeHart.

Michelle Patrick, Superintendent of CTC, is excited for DeHart, “We’re thrilled to welcome Mr. DeHart to the CTC Board of Education. His experience with school facility planning and construction through his work on Clark-Shawnee’s facilities committee is incredibly valuable—especially as CTC prepares for the exciting journey of building our new facility. Having someone who understands that process firsthand will be a tremendous asset as we move forward.”
