CTC Earns 5-Star Rating on State Report Card

Springfield-Clark Career Technology Center (CTC) is thrilled to announce that we’ve earned an overall 5-star rating on the Ohio Career Technical Planning District (CTPD) Report Card! This top-tier rating means we significantly exceed state standards in preparing students for successful futures. Even more exciting—CTC was the only school in Clark County to receive a 5-star rating!

“Our 5-star rating, along with meeting all 9 federal indicators, is a testament to the hard work of our students and staff,” said CTC Superintendent Michelle Patrick. “This achievement isn’t just about numbers. It shows that we’re truly preparing students for meaningful careers after graduation—whether that’s entering the workforce, attending college, joining the military, or setting out on their own business journey.”

5-Star Overall Rating Summary

The Ohio Department of Education evaluates career-tech districts similarly to K-12 school districts, using several key components:

  • Achievement – 4 stars Exceeds state standards
This component uses technical assessments and academic achievement to measure the skills and knowledge learned in the student’s career-tech program.
  • Graduation Rate – 4 stars Exceeds state standards
The Graduation Rate component looks at the percentage of students successfully finishing high school with a diploma.
  • Career & Post-Secondary Readiness – 5 stars Significantly exceeds state standards
This component measures how well the students are prepared for work or college by looking at numerous data points.
  • Post-Program Outcomes – 5 stars Significantly exceeds state standards
This component looks at the number of students who are employed, in an apprenticeship, join the military, enter a service program, or are enrolled in postsecondary education or advanced training in the six months after leaving school.

Federal Indicators

CTC met all 9 federal indicators under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act. These measures include academic proficiency in English language arts, math, and science, non-traditional program enrollment, and participation in work-based learning.

Why This Matters

Our 5-star rating reflects CTC’s commitment to providing hands-on education that aligns with both academic and career-tech standards. It also showcases the continuous efforts of our students, staff, and community partners to create future-ready opportunities. CTC was the only school in Clark County to receive a 5-star rating.

Thank you to our students, families, educators, and community supporters for helping us achieve this milestone! Together, we are building a Career Ready. College Ready. Life Ready. future for every student.
