CTC Earns 5-Star Rating for Second Consecutive Year
We are thrilled to share that Springfield-Clark Career Technology Center (CTC) has earned a 5-star rating on the Ohio Career Technical Planning District (CTPD) Report Card for the second year in a row!

This top-tier rating means CTC has significantly exceeded state standards in preparing students for successful futures, serving as a testament to the county-wide support for career technical education from students and families, as well as local employers and organizations.

Overall Rating Summary

The Ohio Department of Education evaluates career-tech districts similarly to K-12 school districts, using key components in four areas: achievement, graduation rate, career and post-secondary readiness, and post-program outcomes.

Achievement – ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceeds state standards
This component uses data from technical assessments and academic achievement—essentially the career-tech version of end-of-course exams. A 4-star rating shows that Clark County students consistently demonstrate proficiency or higher in their career-technical courses.

Graduation Rate – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceeds state standards
This component measures the percentage of students earning a high school diploma. In Clark County, 96.4% of career-tech concentrators graduate within four years—well above the state average of 88.3% and nearly matching the statewide CTE concentrator rate of 97.1%. The data shows that students in career-technical programs are more likely to graduate on time.

Career & Post-Secondary Readiness – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Significantly exceeds state standards
This component assesses how well students are prepared for work or college by examining multiple data points. A 5-star rating requires a score of 93%, Clark County students earned an impressive 120.6%—proving our concentrators are not only meeting but surpassing key milestones for success after high school.

Post-Program Outcomes – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Significantly exceeds state standards
This measure tracks what students do within six months of graduation—whether employed, in apprenticeships, military service, or enrolled in college or advanced training. At CTC, 96% of students are employed, enlisted, or enrolled, showing they leave with a strong jumpstart toward being Career Ready, College Ready, and Life Ready.

Federal Indicators Summary

In addition to earning the 5-star rating, CTC met all 9 federal indicators under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act. These measures include academic proficiency in English language arts, math, and science, non-traditional program enrollment, and participation in work-based learning.

Looking Ahead

It’s an exciting time for Springfield-Clark CTC! The new school facility project is progressing nicely, and we should have plans to share with the community soon. Plus, there are more developments on the horizon, including the launch of new innovative programs like Drone Technology, Airframe Mechanics, and an Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.

“This 5-star achievement is a reflection of the time, effort, and energy that each staff member dedicates to our students. Together, we are helping students dream about their future and preparing them to be Career Ready, College Ready, and Life Ready,” shared Superintendent Michelle Patrick.
