CTC Celebrates SkillsUSA Success with Top 10 Placements, New Officers, a National Qualifier, and Achievement Award!

Springfield-Clark Career Technology Center (CTC) students made a strong impact at the recent SkillsUSA Ohio Leadership Conference, showcasing their leadership, talent, and competitive skills. From serving as state officers to excelling in competitions and elections, these students represented CTC with pride and professionalism.

CTC Earns Quality Chapter Achievement Award

The event started strong, with CTC being honored with the Quality Chapter Achievement Award in recognition of the school's leadership in SkillsUSA and its involvement in state-wide activities.

CTC's Martinez Leads as State Officer

Diego Martinez, a senior in Medical Assisting, played a significant role in the conference as a State Officer. He was on stage for many of the event's activities and was at the conference several days before assisting with setup and ensuring a successful event for over 7,000 attendees. 

State Officer Election: Future Leader Rises

During the State Championships, SkillsUSA held elections to select the students who will lead the Ohio state chapter for the 2025-2026 school year. Six CTC students qualified to run for state office:

  • Elizabeth Beam, a Junior in Nurse Assisting from Southeastern High School
  • Kadi Brown – Junior in Culinary Arts from Greenon High School
  • Abby Campbell – Junior in EMT from Greenon High School
  • Ben Gilbreth – Junior in Engineering & Architectural Design from Global Impact STEM Academy
  • Jolie Henderson – Junior in Medical Assisting from Southeastern High School
  • Paige Scott – Junior in Medical Assisting from Tecumseh High School

We proudly announce that Elizabeth Beam will represent CTC as one of Ohio’s seven state officers for the 2025-26 school year!

Student Volunteers and Competition Placements

SkillsUSA featured over 90 competitions in industries from healthcare to engineering to communication arts. This year, 36 CTC students competed in 18 different leadership and skill competitions at the SkillsUSA State Championships, held at the Columbus Convention Center.

A special shoutout to four Culinary Arts juniors who volunteered to assist with the Culinary Arts competition:
