First Steps: Architect Hired for New Building
We’re making major moves! Springfield-Clark Career Technology Center (CTC), in partnership with the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC), is excited to announce that Schorr Architects will lead the design of our brand-new, state-of-the-art school building.
Located in Dublin, Ohio, Schorr Architects brings decades of expertise to the table—having completed over 750 school-related projects with 52 school districts across the state, including several career centers like ours. Their experience and understanding of career-tech education makes them a perfect fit for this exciting project.
Meet the Team
Schorr Architects will lead a stellar team of professionals to design a space that supports modern learning, hands-on labs, flexible spaces and student success:
- Community Design Alliance - Associate Architect
- Roger D. Fields Associates - Lead on the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering components
- SMBH - Lead the structural engineering design
- Kleingers Group - Lead the civil engineering
Additional experts that will be joining the build include:
- IMEG - Technology consultant
- Reitano Design Group - Food service consultant
- Boulevard Studios - Landscape architect
- EA Energy Solution - LEED consultant
What’s Next
So… when will the new building open? That’s the big question—and trust us, we’re just as excited as you are! While there are a lot of important steps (big and small) between now and opening day, here’s a very simple and tentative look at the current timeline:
- Design Phase: Begins May 2025 – expected to run for about 12 months
- Sitework Begins: Spring 2026
- Move-In Ready: June 2028 🎉 (fingers crossed)
