As we approach the end of this unprecedented school year, we wanted to take some time to update everyone on some items to wrap up this year. This document will highlight information concerning the convocation ceremony at the CTC.

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Only students in the specific program will be permitted to enter the building during this time.

  • Individuals coming into the building need to be fever free. If you have a temperature of 100 degrees or higher you will not be permitted to enter the building.

  • All individuals need to be 6 feet apart. We suggest that you place marks 6 feet apart to ensure individuals adhere to this guidance.

  • There will be no more than 10 people in an area at one time.

  • Gloves will be provided.

  • Sanitizer will be available at each lab during their scheduled time.

  • Face masks/coverings are strongly recommended.

Convocation Filming Schedule

We have worked hard to provide the opportunity for our Senior students to walk across the stage and celebrate their achievements at the culmination of their senior year. Unfortunately, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we cannot hold this celebration in the typical manner this year. Working with state and local officials, we have come up with a plan to celebrate our students in a modified “drive-through/walk-through” convocation ceremony from which we will produce a finished Convocation Ceremony video and still photographs that will be available to each student.

This plan allows one car per student containing the graduate, a driver, and up to four immediate family members. The senior student and those four immediate family members will walk through the convocation filming process while the driver of the car will stay in line and proceed around the building for pickup at the front of the building. CTC staff members will be there to guide you.  Once you have completed the filming process, you will need to exit the building to your car and leave campus so that we can continue the process of celebrating other students.

  • Seniors will report by program, on the day and time specified below to the CTC dressed in their gown for convocation.

  • Vehicles must enter campus off of John St. and follow directions from CTC staff members to report to the assigned staging area.

  • Once on campus you will stay in your car and line up in the staging area prior to proceeding to the drop off point to enter the building for the video.

  • You will exit your car at the covered overhang between buildings E & A and enter the building as directed by CTC staff members.

  • The senior student and up to four immediate family members will be permitted into the building to walk through the Convocation filming and photography process and to receive their career passport.

  • Our nurse will be at the door to take the temperature of those entering the building. If you have a temperature of 100 degrees or higher you will not be permitted to enter the building.

  • Face masks/coverings are strongly recommended for those attending not including the graduate.
