What is Business Professionals of America (BPA)?

Since 1966, Business Professionals of America (BPA) is the premier CTSO (Career and Technical Student Organization) for students pursuing careers in business management, information technology, finance, office administration, health administration and other related career fields. This organization has 45,000 members in over 1,800 chapters across 25 states, as well as an international presence in China, Haiti, and Peru.

What does BPA do at CTC?

We participate in Region 15, attending the State Leadership Conference, regional, state, and national competitions, and raise money for the Special Olympics. BPA exposes students to the culture of a professional workplace, offers leadership training, and encourages participation in civic and social endeavors as they prepare for the business environment.

Who can join BPA?

Students in the following CTC programs are eligible to participate in BPA:
  • Cybersecurity
  • Digital Media Design
  • Software Programming Technologies

How can a student participate in BPA?

Every student in the Cybersecurity, Digital Media Design, and Software Programming Technologies programs are required to be members. Beyond being a student member, you can also be a:
  • Class representative
  • Chapter representative
  • State officer
  • National officer

What is the benefit of being in BPA?

BPA is designed to take business and information technology skills from academic knowledge to real-world experiences and help educators make the classroom a motivating and interactive experience.
 
BPA advisors and students work together in a mentor-based partnership, where members learn how to go from students to professionals in their knowledge, skills and abilities.
