Students who apply and have a completed online application by the January deadline will receive their admission decision by early to mid-February. Students who apply and have a completed application after the first week in January receive their admission decision on a rolling basis as applications are processed.

Our programs all have limited space and fill up every year, so it is important to apply early to secure your spot!

Yes! Students are encouraged to gain the best of both worlds – remaining active in their home schools as well as becoming involved with CTC. CTC students return to their home schools for athletics, music, student organizations, and other activities.

Becoming a well-rounded individual is all about taking advantage of the opportunities to be involved. CTC offers several activities for students including:

Of course! Many CTC students transition directly into college after earning college credit while attending CTC. We have several college credit agreements with colleges and universities across the state, allowing students to earn free college credits, easing or erasing the burden of student loan debt.   Sinclair College offers all of our students a $3000 scholarship if they complete their program and maintain a 2.25 GPA while at the CTC.

Yes, the half-day option is available for students who want to participate in their chosen lab, but return to their partner school for academics. Check with your partner school guidance counselor to see if this option is available for you.

Yes, you'll wear a program shirt/required lab attire every day. Dress down days, or jeans days are occasionally offered and additional days may be earned throughout the year.

Many students are interested in career fields, but do not know if that is what they really want to do! CTC gives you an opportunity to explore a career field – at a much less cost than attending college and switching majors. If you decide to go directly into a career, CTC continuously works with business and industry to provide the in-demand training and certifications, saving you money on the same training and certifications a company would charge the employee.

You will spend about 3 hours a day in your chosen lab, learning the tools of the trade and preparing for certification exams under the guidance of your instructor and skilled professionals who have worked in the field. The remainder of the day will be dedicated to academics, fulfilling requirements from the state and home school for graduation.

There is no tuition at Springfield Clark CTC. There are expenses for items like tools, uniforms, workbooks, and lab fees. Costs vary according to program. 

CTC will not deny any student experiencing financial hardship a career-technical education. Financial assistance may delay payments, or include a waiver of fees for qualifying students.

We work with your partner schools so that when graduation day comes, you will receive your high school diploma from your home school, and a Certification of Completion, Certificate of one year of training, or a Letter of Participation and Career Passport from the CTC.

If you meet the grade and attendance requirements, you will be eligible for CTC’s early placement, apprenticeship or internship programs your senior year. This is an opportunity for you to complete your academic work during the school day and work in the job field during lab time, gaining on-the-job training and earning a paycheck. Many of these opportunities will lead to full-time employment after graduation. In addition, several of the organizations at CTC will help you build your network of professionals, beginning with your instructor.

Eligible students may earn certifications in their chosen career field after completing a certification test. Earning certifications will position you in an ideal spot while job-hunting since employers look for candidates with the necessary qualifications instead of having to pay for classes to earn them.

Yes! Your partner school provides transportation to CTC every day. However, with a purchase of a parking permit, students can drive to campus. For more information about busing, including half-day busing, contact your partner school guidance counselor.  Please remember that driving to school is a privilege and not a right, so student conduct and any driving safety issues could result in driving privileges being revoked. 

Extremely successful! Several of our graduates are successful business owners, teachers, nurses, police officers, chefs, engineers – the list goes on! There is no limit to what you can become.

National studies show that nearly two-thirds of all high school Career-Technical graduates enter some form of post-secondary program. Career-Technical education programs encourage high school graduates to continue their education. For example, within Career-Technical education, Tech Prep links course work in the last two years of high school with related education programs at Clark State College, Sinclair College, and other postsecondary technical schools.
 

You will find students interested in a particular career field and eager to explore it before graduating high school. Our students are hands-on learners and want to graduate with options to advance to college or their particular career. They have the freedom to build on their talents and skills while growing as a leader. Students at CTC work hard and support each other.

The Early Placement Program permits students to take part-time employment in their area of preparation. The program has two purposes: work experience and early employment. Students qualify for Early Placement based on grades, attendance, and EOC status.

The Apprenticeship Program is an innovative approach to formal education. Students registered in an Apprenticeship Program will work with a master crafts person or journey-person who is designated as a mentor for the student apprentice. The journey-person is either a person who has completed a formal apprenticeship or someone who has at least four to five years of experience, able to demonstrate a broad range of abilities within the occupation, and is performing the skills required of the occupation without assistance or further instruction. Students will gain valuable employment skills, earn money while learning, receive a high school diploma and a career technical certificate while acquiring training towards an apprenticeship certification.
