E-Learning
All About E-Learning Days
E-Learning at CTC ensures students stay on track during unexpected closures by shifting to online, real-time instruction. Teachers and students connect through Google Classroom, following the normal bell schedule for interactive learning. This approach minimizes disruptions and avoids extending the school year.
E-Learning keeps us moving forward without needing to extend the school year. Let’s make it work together!
Getting Started
- Use your CTC Google account (CTC email and password) to login into Google classroom at Classroom.Google.com
- Select your class's Google Classroom from the menu on the left. You may need to click the triangle next to "Enrolled" to see your complete list of classes.
- Once in your class's Google Classroom space you will see a blue button on the left to join the real-time Google Meet.
Expectations
- Classroom expectations for participation and behavior will be the same as if the student were attending an in-person class.
- Students should have their cameras on and are expected to actively participate in class discussion. Teachers should be able to identify the student during the Google Meet.
- Students do not have to be in uniform, but are expected to follow CTC's dress code (for details visit the Student Handbook at SCCTC.org/Handbook).
- Students are expected to contact their teacher when they need assistance.
Schedule
- E-Learning will follow the bell schedule specified in the E-Learning announcement (regular or 2-hour delay).
Assignments
- Assignment content and due date is at the discretion of the teacher.
Attendance
- Students must commit to being actively engaged and working during E-learning.
- Students will follow their regular schedule with times to be logged into their courses.
- Daily/period/course attendance will be taken when students are scheduled to be working remotely. Students who do not log into their classes will be considered absent for those classes.
- Students with unique situations must communicate with the assigned teacher.
- Parents/guardians must communicate with the school attendance office to report student absences.
- If you're unable to login, call or email your teacher and the attendance office, Attendance@SCCTC.org or 937-325-7368 x127.
Technology
- Students should take their Chromebook and charger home each day.
- All technology devices and curriculum materials are subject to the CTC’s District’s Policies including: 7540 - Computer Technology and Networks; 7540.01 - Technology Privacy; 7540.02 - Web Accessibility, Content, APPS, and Services; 7540.03 - Student Education Technology Acceptable Use and Safety; and 7540.05 = Electronic Mail
