Convocation

All school fees must be paid in full by May 5.

If you are unsure if school fees are owed please see Mrs. Ridgeway in the Guidance Office. 

There are 3 options for transportation to Convocation Practice:

• School bus
• Drive themselves*
• Ride with another student*

*Students Driving or Riding to Convocation Practice
Students who choose to drive themselves or ride with another student to Convocation practice must have a Permission Slip completed by April 28. Permission slips were sent home with all students. You may also complete the Permission Slip in ParentSquare. 

Students who choose to drive to Convocation Practice, but DO NOT attend practice, will be unable to participate in Convocation.

Wednesday, May 17
8 am - Senior Breakfast begins
CTC Cafeteria

After Senior Breakfast please report to your lab for attendance. After attendance is taken you will be released for transportation to Convocation Practice.

There are 2 options for transportation to Convocation Practice:

• School bus
• Personal vehicle - Students who drive or ride with another student to Convocation Practice must have a signed Permission Slip turned into the office by April 28. Students who choose to drive to Convocation Practice, but DO NOT attend practice, will be unable to participate in Convocation.

Wednesday, May 17

5:15 p.m. - Student lineup begins (lineup is by program)
5:30 p.m. - Doors open for family and friends
6:00 p.m. - Ceremony begins

Gowns are mandatory. Nothing, flowers or other decorations, should be attached to your gown.

Caps are NOT necessary for convocation. Save them for your actual graduation ceremony at your home school. 

Dress your best! Today celebrates YOU and your achievement. Dress comfortably, but please refrain from wearing jeans, t-shirts, tennis shoes/sneakers, and flip flops.

Cell phones, purses, and other personal items should be left with family and friends. To keep convocation looking professional and capture the best photos please do not carry anything in to the ceremony.

We know your family and friends are just as excited as you are! 

There is not a limit to the number of guests who can attend. But there are some guidelines we expect all guests to follow:

• Arrive and be seated promptly and remain seated until convocation is complete.
• Save the shouting, hooting, hollering, and clapping until all students in the CTC program have crossed the stage, so that everyone can hear all student names as they are announced.
• Leave all noise makers, balloons, and signs in the car, as these items are prohibited in the hall.
• Sounds are amplified in the hall so phone ringing, talking, and even whispering can be distracting and disruptive. 
• Respect that Cedarville University is a non-smoking campus.

We will be livestreaming Convocation via YouTube. Livestream will begin at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17.
