Career Camps for Kids

Good social skills are critical to successful functioning in life. These skills enable us to know what to say, how to make good choices, and how to behave in diverse situations. Students will learn how to improve communication with others, develop self awareness, improve cooperative teamwork, develop emotional management skills, and gain greater listening skills. This camp can help you be successful in all career fields and future jobs.

Is the chef inside you ready for camp? In this short course, students will learn many basics from cooking, baking, and food preparation. Everyone needs to know how to cook and a career in the Culinary Arts is also a fast-paced and fun adventure. This session can be valuable for all students in life!

Welcome to the VEX IQ Springfield Clark CTC Robotics camp! This is a hands-on student camp designed to enable students to use their STEM skills to build, program and compete in a fun four-day program. Students will work in teams to build their robot. They will develop programming skills and driver control skills as they work through the programming challenges. Students will learn new skills daily as we add sensors and obstacles to encourage their problem-solving skills. Each day builds on the previous day until we reach day 4, competition day!

Write your own computer code! In this camp, students will learn fundamental software programming concepts, using Scratch code. Make simple games using Python and learn how to build web pages in this Future Ready Camp! IT and coding are in-demand job areas for the future economy. Skills in coding can give you an advantage for this career field.

During this session, students will engage in the art of storytelling and then create their own silent film. Creating your story and expressing your artistic abilities are key skills to any job in the Arts & Communications Career Field.

Careers in this pathway are related to humanities and performing, visual, literary, and media arts. These include architecture, graphics, interior and fashion design, writing, film, fine arts, journalism, languages, media, advertising, and public relations.

Embark on an eye-opening expedition into the sometimes challenging and always exhilarating experience of creating a story (or article, essay, poem, or ANY kind of writing) that will entertain others. Learn to produce a propulsive plot, populate it with unpredictable characters, incorporate humor, build to a compelling climax, and leave readers wanting more. Play with multiple writing prompts that will spark your imagination and creativity.

Take part in this mock trial experience, where campers will split up into two teams: the prosecution and the defense. There will be a new scenario each day (Scenarios A,B,C,D)! Campers will be coached through judicial procedure, plan their case, and act out the scenario at the end of the session.

Get a picture from above the earth! This camp will teach students to fly small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS, or drones). Learn all the laws related to flying drones, making money flying drones, Weather systems, and how to use drones to take pictures and videos. Many career fields are using drones today on the job. This camp session offers a two-$2500 winners of the competition! In this session to learn how to be an entrepreneur and complete a STEM challenge! Students will compete at the end of the week for scholarships and recognition by the state of Ohio.

Believe in Ohio is an experiential learning STEM, entrepreneurship, and innovation program for students that was collaboratively developed by The Ohio Academy of Science (OAS) and Entrepreneurial Engagement Ohio (EEO). Funded by the State of Ohio, this program has reached more than 10,000 students from more than 150 high schools across every part of Ohio. These students completed nearly 8,000 STEM Commercialization and STEM Business Plans, with more than $1.2 million in awards and scholarships to Ohio colleges and universities.
