Auto Body Collision & Repair

The automotive industry remains among the fastest growing business sectors in the United States. Because automobiles are the main means of transportation for most U.S. residents, repair and maintenance of cars and trucks is a necessity. Automotive related occupations will continue to grow, requiring highly skilled, technical training to keep pace with the industry. The SCCTC Transportation Systems curriculum focuses on developing these technical skills - and then applying them to real-workplace scenarios - helping our graduates gain the experience they need to secure high paying jobs upon graduation, or seamlessly transition into higher education classes.

Auto Body Collision Repair
This two-year instructional course familiarizes the student with the operation and application of the various resources used in a body shop. Covering a full range of topics, from general shop safety and electrical repairs to fixing suspension system components and frame straightening. This broad -based course also introduces students to the financial side of body shop operations.

Learning through hands-on applications, students work in our state-of-the-art auto body lab and high-end paint booth, which is regarded as one of the best in Clark County. In these working environments, students work to repair the exterior of automobiles that have been in collisions. They learn to align and repaint the vehicles to make them look like new. Students develop needed skills and work habits as they work side by side with our instructors. The first year of this program provides students with a strong base of knowledge, with second-year instruction focusing more in depth on advanced skills. Internships, mentoring, job shadowing, and apprenticeships are all available through this program.

After Graduation
Students may earn college credits at the Nashville Auto-Diesel College, Wyoming Tech, Lincoln Tech and Universal Technical Institute for successfully completing the Auto Body Collision Repair Program.
