Students develop skills and work habits by working in the student-operated restaurant called The Jaguar Room. It is open to the public and staff on Wednesday through Friday during lunch hours. Junior and senior classes share management responsibilities of The Jaguar Room. Culinary students also have many opportunities to participate in state and national culinary competitions and compete for scholarships to prominent culinary colleges in the United States. Culinary students gain leadership experience through membership in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).

Opportunities After Graduation
Students may continue their education at a four-year university, community college, or technical institute. The Culinary Arts program can be a stepping stone to many opportunities. This program provides students with skills they can use to earn money while they pursue advanced training. The Prostart curriculum developed by The National Restaurant Association Foundation provides students with the opportunity to earn college credits while in high school. It also gives students the opportunity to earn national certification in safety and sanitation through ServSafe Certification and Restaurant Management through ProStart Management Certification. College scholarships are available through FCCLA, ProStart, and other competitions held in Ohio for high school culinary students.
