7pm              Convocation at the Wittenberg HPER Center

On Thursday, May 18th, seniors will be treated to a celebratory breakfast and convocation practice which will begin at 8:00 AM in our cafetorium. All seniors planning to participate in Convocation must attend this breakfast and Convocation practice. Seniors will be dismissed from the CTC after this breakfast and Convocation practice at approximately 10:00 AM. (School appropriate attire is required.)

Convocation will be held at the Wittenberg HPER Center. Doors to the auditorium will open at 6:15 PM. There is ample seating, tickets are not required. Students must be in line by 6:30 PM as the march will begin at 7:00 PM. The program will last until approximately 8:30 PM.

Wittenberg HPER Center is a beautiful facility and we feel very fortunate to be able to use it to celebrate our seniors who have worked so hard for this recognition day. Here are some guidelines to follow for Convocation:
Required Dress and Other Etiquette Rules (Graduates):
Girls should wear a nice dress or slacks outfit – no jeans or T-shirts. The outfit color does not matter, because the gowns will cover them. Appropriate shoes should be worn. Athletic shoes are not appropriate.
Boys should wear a shirt with tie and slacks/khakis – no jeans or T-shirts. Appropriate shoes should be worn.
 Athletic shoes are not appropriate.
No flowers or other attachments are to be worn on the gown.
When students arrive at the assigned area to prepare for the processional, they should bring nothing with them. Purses, cell phones and other personal items should be left with family or friends. Students will not be permitted to carry in any items (purses, phones, beach balls, confetti, fire crackers, etc.) into the ceremony.

Once the ceremony begins, students are to remain until the ceremony is completed.
We ask both students and guests to refrain from shouting or applauding inappropriately during the ceremony. This is to ensure that all students’ names are heard when they are announced.
As the recession music plays, the graduates will process out of the auditorium.
(Please, out of respect for our graduates, remain seated until they have all processed out of the auditorium.)
Any student who comes in a condition that is not appropriate to the occasion will be asked to leave and will not participate in the ceremony.
Guests of Students:
Guests may not bring in noise-making devices of any kind, such as air horns, whistles or firecrackers.
Neither confetti nor balloons are permitted. No objects (including signs) are to be brought into the auditorium. This includes anything that can be taped, stapled, nailed, or in any way affixed to permanent structures.
 It is a non-smoking facility.
Guests are to remain in the seating area during the ceremony and should not attempt to come down to the stage to take pictures. This is not fair to the guests of other students.
Guests are asked to remain seated and not attempt to exit until the graduates have left the auditorium.
Guests should meet their student outside of the auditorium, in the yard, after the recessional. Please do not stay inside
Any guest acting in an inappropriate manner will be asked to leave the convocation.
Because sound is magnified, crying and talking is disruptive to the ceremony so we ask that you please make arrangements for infants and small children to remain at home during Convocation.

We appreciate your cooperation as we celebrate the Class of 2017!
